This page collects the questions we hear most often about the product. For a general question about IT support as a skill rather than about SysDesks specifically, the blog is the better place to look — this page is scoped to how SysDesks itself behaves, matching the rest of the Help Center.
If you've read this far through the Help Center, the short version of everything above is this: SysDesks is built so that the queue, the tools, the AI end users, the scoring, and the interview feature all check real state and remember real context rather than accepting appearances. That is a deliberate design choice, not an accident — it's what lets a resolved ticket, a passed interview, or a published document actually mean something rather than being a formality you clicked through.
This Help Center will keep growing alongside the product — new articles get added as new features ship, and existing ones get corrected the moment something in the product changes underneath them. If an article here ever describes something that no longer matches what you see in the console, that's worth reporting to support directly, since it means the documentation has fallen out of sync with the product it's meant to describe.
Questions we hear most
- Is this real IT work? No — SysDesks is a simulated environment. Nothing you do here touches a real company's systems. It's designed to give you realistic practice and honest, specific examples of your problem-solving process.
- Does closing a ticket actually check anything, or is it on the honor system? It's checked. Every ticket has resolution conditions evaluated against the real simulated state of the account, device, or service involved — see How Tickets Work.
- Can I go back and redo a ticket I already closed? Closed tickets stay in your history as a record, but the queue is built around moving forward through new incidents rather than replaying old ones. Interview questions, by contrast, are explicitly designed to be reattempted — see the Interview article's Practice screen.
- Do the AI end users remember earlier conversations? Yes. Chat, calls, and NorthMail-linked mail for the same ticket share one continuous memory from the requester's side — see How Chat Works.
- Why did my points not show up immediately? Some points post immediately and some are held in a short escrow window tied to that ticket outcome — see How Scoring Works.
- What happens to my progress if I start on a limited session and then create a full account? It transfers rather than resetting — see Account and Subscription Help.
- Does SysDesks guarantee a job or an interview? No. It gives you realistic practice and material to speak from; it does not guarantee employment outcomes.
- Where do I manage or cancel a subscription? From your technician profile after signing in.
- Is there a mobile app? SysDesks runs in a browser and is not currently available as a native mobile app.
- Does the mock interview feature use the same AI as the ticket-side chat and calls? It uses the same underlying voice and inference infrastructure, but a completely separate persona, prompt, and grading model — see How the Interview Feature Works.
- Can other technicians see my resolution notes? Documentation auto-published from your resolved tickets is part of the shared in-app knowledge base, searchable the same way any other article is — see How Documentation Works.
- Why can't I open a remote session for a ticket I'm looking at? Remote sessions are authorized per ticket based on what the incident actually concerns. A directory-only or shipping-only ticket will not open one, because there's nothing on an endpoint for it to fix — see How Remote Desktop Works.
If your question isn't answered here or in the rest of the Help Center, contact support directly with as much detail as you can — your account email, what you were trying to do, and what actually happened.
